Saved this one until my Monday morning coffee! What a great way to start the week and a nudge to reflect on how I can further adopt an attitude of hospitality online. I have always loved a Shauna Niequist quote about true hospitality making others feel better about themselves than about us when they leave your homes. The more I think about it, the more everything you are wondering about here reflects that same philosophy online. Thank you for all the great links and reading lined up – I was so fascinated to read that some Amish had even chose not to display photos in the home when it prevented people being neighbourly in the community, wow! And that tree with it lights! So beautiful.

I sometimes forget your Wonder Report on Substack, but today I made it a priority, thankfully. You have no idea how impacted I was by the Ted talk you posted. I must buy this book even if it is just to learn more about those three steps to transformative gatherings. I’m dreading for reason I won’t go into here the upcoming memorial service for my mother who passed away in April of 2020. Afterwards, there will be a family gathering. The drama surrounding everything about her last days, her death, the pandemic that shut down the originally planned service a year ago, the estate, and now the two, not one but two, memorial services has nearly leveled me. I’ve literally been praying for words, ways, a miracle, to make inroads to reconciliation that I might possibly facilitate at the memorial service I will attend at her gravesite. I’ll read the book and keep on praying. She said, “How we gather is how we live.” Perhaps, the gathering can truly transform how my family of origin and the next generation can live and move forward by putting aside unhealthy peace and unhealthy conflict. Thanks, Charity.

Wanted you to know that when you left Facebook or social media, I had printed out your article as it spoke to me. However, I also have changed my prayer to the Lord. I used to pray please don't let me live any longer than I can function in this high tech world. Now my prayer is, please help me with the tools I need to learn in this high tech world. smiley face Jill G.
